This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for a recent H&S graduate (or someone in the final stages of qualifying) to join a busy and successful mining services company for a 12-month maternity leave contract (on a part-time basis) and take part in creating and promoting a positive safety culture.

Your new company

The business operates in the mining sector, specialising in Mobile Mechanical Maintenance, providing plant and people to tier 1 and 2 companies across Australia. Their Head Office and warehouse is located in Neerabup, which is where this role will be based.

Your new role

Reporting to a Senior HSE Manager (based in Osborne Park) and the Managing Director (based on-site at Neerabup), this role will support the business by running the Safety Management System and continuously review, improve, and educate all workers on the Company's Work Health and Safety System (WHSMS).

You’ll conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety practices are being followed and employees are behaving in a safe way. You’ll be responsible for maintaining safety registers, recording safety meeting minutes and providing regular safety reports to management.

The position is part time, approximately 22 hours per week, and we are flexible in regards to what days/schedule works best for you. The role is located onsite at Neerabup.

What you’ll need to succeed

You’re a recent graduate with a Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety. Ideally you have a First Aid Certificate and some work experience in a manufacturing/workshop environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, with an ability to interact effectively with blue collar tradespeople to promote a safety culture in an inclusive and collaborative way. You’re organised and efficient with good Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word and Excel.

Please note that we would also be very happy to consider more experienced individuals that may be looking for a part-time role and less senior duties and responsibilities.
